Important Notice

Please note that the daily conference rate (£50/£65) has been offered as an option for delegates who do not wish to attend the full event. If you have paid the full conference fee, you do not need to add the daily rate option to your account.

As full refunds cannot be made, we strongly advise delegates to double-check their registration requirements before proceeding to the payment stage, especially the dates (for accommodation and/or daily conference rate), if you are not attending the entire event. Details of our cancellation policy can be found below.

Please read on for details of how to register for the Eighth Biennial Conference for Music in Nineteenth-Century Britain.

  • The registration facility is a straightforward online process through which you will be guided by a series of on-screen instructions. There are no forms to be downloaded. The system functions as a 'shopping cart' to which you can add, upon entering personal details and creating an account, items of your choice (registration fee, accommodation, conference dinner, etc.). The process ends in a secure credit/debit card payment, which is the only method of payment accepted by the system.
  • If you have already registered and wish to add other options to your registration after the payment has been processed, you can do so by logging back into the account you have previously created (with the same username and password):
    • On the welcome screen choose the option 'log yourself in' and use the 'Returning Customer' window on the right-hand side of the following screen.
    • Please do not create a new account as this means you will be registered as two persons, which will result in inaccuracies in our records.
  • Discounted early-bird registration closes 4 p.m. (BST), Monday, 16 June 2011. After this deadline, the system will automatically remove the standard early-bird rate (£100) as well the concession rates (£75) and from this point onwards only the late registration fee (£130) will be available.
  • Online registration closes Monday, 4 July 2011.
  • Registration facilities will also be available on-site at the conference venue.

* The concession rate is for students, retired academics and independent scholars; proof of these statuses will be required at the time of on-site registration upon arrival. Delegates registering at the concessionary rate for RMA or SMI membership will also have to provide proof of their membership at the time of on-site registration upon arrival. 

  • Full registration (standard and concession) includes full conference attendance, delegate pack and conference bag, lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments, SMI and Ashgate drinks receptions, and concert.
  • Day rate includes refreshments per day reserved; reception and concert where applicable.

 

Cancellation Policy

Bookings may be cancelled up to 1 week before the conference and will be subject to the following charges:

2 months before the start of the conference:

 30% of the total paid

1 month before the start of the conference:

 50% of the total paid

More than 1 week/less than 1 month before the conference:

 75% of the total paid

Less than 1 week before the conference:

 100% of the total paid
