About PGSA

Queen's PGSA: Queen's Post-Graduate Student Association

This is the website of the Post-Graduate Students Association at QUB. We are a postgraduate led organisation that seeks to facilitate the cohesion of the QUB postgraduate community both within and beyond our University. We plan to run social events and in doing so encourage people to forge contacts and to engage in academic and intellectual pursuits. We have only just commenced our activities and would encourage any interested postgrads to contact us if they wish to get involved or to run a particular event.

About PGSA:

Post-graduate students association (PGSA) is an independent university association run for, and by, postgraduate students. We recognise that being a postgrad can be very different from undergraduate life so we are dedicated solely to representing the interests of masters and doctoral students. Our aim is to make the postgraduate experience at Queens as enjoyable and rewarding as possible.

Email: pgsa@qub.ac.uk

What we do:

· Represent and promote the interests of post graduate students, as a whole, in intellectual and social pursuits.

· Run regular social events for encouraging post grads to forge contacts and to engage in academic and intellectual persuits as a community.

· Offer information and support to those individuals or groups desiring to organise postgraduate events

· Provide a means of communication between post graduate students, university authorities and other bodies fostering peer support and promoting postgraduate development.

· Promote co-operation amongst members for educational, social, and cultural activities and such other purposes as are beneficial to the post-grad community.

How we do it:

The day to day running of PGSA is carried out by a Working Committee of current postgraduates - to have a look at who the committee members are please follow the link.

We also hold Open meetings regularly throughout the year to provide a forum for all postgraduates students to come along and contribute to the association.

Since the PGSA is run entirely by postgrads - its effectiveness as both a representational and social organisation depends on you, its members, getting involved. We have a getting involved page and please use this to not only get involved but also to suggest your ideas and share your concerns.
