Michaël obtained his BA in Communication & Media Management from the Hogeschool van Amsterdam in November 2004 and went on to pursue another BA in Audio Design and an MA in Arts & Technology at the Utrecht School for the Arts, which he both obtained in August 2010. His main interests include sound synthesis, software development and research into algorithmic composition techniques based on mathematical principles for the creation of computer music and audiovisual works.Michaël's PhD research is focusing on the creative use of physical modelling sound synthesis in combination with algorithmic composition of computer music and audiovisual works under supervision of Dr. Eric Lyon and Dr. Maarten van Walstijn. He is partly funded by Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, VSBfonds and Het Vreedefonds.
