Imogene completed a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Music (Performance) and an MA in Choreography from Dartington College of Arts, Devon. She has more recently been awarded a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music in piano (performance). Her work addresses the relationship between the female body and the piano in order to create a sociological commentary on the nature of western classical music culture and it's potential for deconstruction and reinstitution. She has presented work at, amongst others; the Arnolfini, Bristol, the Klankkleur Festival, Amsterdam, and at the Tonlistarskoli, Egilsstadir. Imogene is currently undertaking research that examines the body-instrument relationship using and extending the theories of sexuality and eroticism by George Bataille and Michael Foucault.
