Queen’s University has committed up to 39 UK-China Science Bridge bursaries for outstanding Chinese students, offering a direct opportunity to study for a PhD in one of the theme areas.
Students will join world-class research clusters at Queen’s University and participate in the Science Bridge activities, undertaking research and innovation projects focussing on developing sustainable energy and built environment solutions.The amount of the Science Bridge bursaries for 2009-10 is the approved international tuition fees, up to a maximum of £11,539. This bursary will be applicable for each of the three years. In order for a studentship to proceed, students should have also secured a maintenance scholarship (to cover living costs for the duration of your award) from the Chinese Scholarship Council, or from an organisation of equal status with similar criteria for the award of the maintenance scholarship.
Students must be in their final year of study for a Masters degree or a five-year Bachelor degree, in one of the following subject areas:
Students should demonstrate outstanding academic achievements and satisfactory English proficiency for PhD study at a leading UK university. Excellent references are important, especially from the Chinese partners involved in the Science Bridge projects.
