Several intelligent optimized algorithms have employed in several Chinese power stations, such as Shanghai Waigaoqiao power satation, Zhejiang Ninghai power station, Shanghai Caohejing power station, and so on. Because the main controller variables are flow rate, pressure and temperature in the thermal system, several PID parameter self-tuning experiments were performed for different flow rate, pressure and temperature in the hydrogen-cooled, oil main- pipeline pressure system, pulverizer control system of 1000MW unit.

1.1.2.4 Instruments was validated

Three research projects subcontracted by QUB to Chinese partners were successfully undertaken to deliver proof-of-concept studies relating to the widespread uptake of QUB-developed tests methods in China. A demand for in situ tests enabling assessments of construction quality and long-term structural health is a core element of the Science Bridge project. The appropriateness of three instruments developed at QUB, namely Autoclam, Permit and Limpet, was validated, providing a platform for the subsequent development of related Chinese Standards. The following subcontracted projects are now complete:

  1.  ‘Establishment of correlations between the Autoclam method and the permeability test methods specified in China standards’, Central Research Institute for Building and Construction, Beijing, 2010-11 (£6,000);
  2.  ‘Research on the correlation of PERMIT ion migration test and related Chinese standards’, Department of Civil Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, 2010-11 (£6,000);
  3.  ‘Experimental Research on LIMPET for Application in China’, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, 2010-11 (£4,000).

1.1.2.5 The real system data of power network is collected from the Jiangsu Power Company

Collaborated with the School of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University, China, a technique on the damping torque analysis developed by the Queen’s University of Belfast has been tested by using the real system data of power network provided by the Jiangsu Power Company, China. Discussions on further collaboration to transfer the technique to the Jiangsu Power Company in under the way.
