1.5 Research and Education collaboration agreements

1.5.1 Collaborative Research agreements
As part of UK-China Science Bridge activities, formal agreements have been signed between QUB and project partners, including:
Tsinghua University (2009)
Zhejiang University (2009)
Shanghai University (2009)
Zhejiang University (2009)
Shanghai Jiaotong University (2009)
Chongqing University
Chongqing Institute of Building Technology (22 September 2010)
Central Research Institute of Building and Construction, Beijing (15 September 2010)
China Highway Research Institute, Beijing (15 September 2010)
All of these agreements were signed by the Vice Chancellor of QUB, Professor Peter Gregson, with the aim to formalise and strengthen sustainable, collaborative research links between QUB and these leading organisations in China.


1.5.2 collaborative education agreements
•    Intelligent system and control: This included a ‘3+1+1’ collaborative programme with Ningbo Institute of Technology, a collaborative undergraduate programme with Harbin Institute of Technology.
•    Civil engineering: Three collaborative education agreements signed between QUB and Chinese partners as part of Science Bridge activities in 2009-10. This included a ‘3+1+1’ collaborative programme with Ningbo Institute of Technology, a collaborative MSc programme with Zhejiang University and a post-graduate foundation programme with Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology. These agreements allow for increased student exchanges between the partners both at under- and post-graduate levels.
