Use of Fire Extinguishers

Event Description

Dates for this course will be organised when enough staff have indicated an interest to attend by registering on iTrent.  Staff will then be contacted with dates.

Duration: Approximately 1 hour               

Designed for:

All staff – to improve fire safety measures.  This course will provide enhanced training for Fire Wardens and staff who work in high risk areas.

This is a practical course which covers the Chemistry of Combustion and the use of Fire Extinguishers.  Participants will be given an opportunity to extinguish fires in controlled conditions using various fire extinguishers. 

All staff require greater awareness of fire safety and it is advisable that all departments have staff who are familiar with the use of fire extinguishers.
