Discovery 2023! Conference Online

The seventh Discovery! conference was again a hybrid conference, held on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th November. It featured lectures from across the archaeological community in Ulster – with the commercial sector, museums, academics, societies and community groups all represented at the podium. Organised by the Ulster Archaeological Society and the Centre for Community Archaeology at QUB this was a great event to bring everyone together.

Discovery 2022! Conference Online

The sixth Discovery! conference was our first hybrid conference, held on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th November. It featured lectures from across the archaeological community in Ulster – with the commercial sector, museums, academics, societies and community groups all represented at the podium. Organised by the Ulster Archaeological Society and the Centre for Community Archaeology at QUB this was a great event to bring everyone together after several years of online-only conferences.

Discovery 2021! Conference Online

The fifth Discovery! conference was again held online (over Zoom) on Saturday 6th November. It featured lectures from across the archaeological community in Ulster – with the commercial sector, museums, academics, societies and community groups all represented at the podium. Organised by the Ulster Archaeological Society and the Centre for Community Archaeology at QUB this was a hugely successful event despite the continued complications of COVID-19.

Discovery 2020! Conference Online

The fourth Discovery! conference was held online on Saturday 7th November. It featured lectures from across the archaeological community in Ulster – with the commercial sector, museums, academics, societies and community groups all represented at the podium. Organised by the Ulster Archaeological Society and the Centre for Community Archaeology at QUB this was a hugely successful event despite the complications of COVID-19.

Discovery 2019! Conference at Queen's University Belfast

The third Discovery! conference was held in Queen’s on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th November, featuring lectures from across the archaeological community in Ulster – with the commercial sector, museums, academics, societies and community groups all represented at the podium. Organised by the Ulster Archaeological Society and the Centre for Community Archaeology at QUB this was a hugely successful event.

Many thanks to those who attended the conference at the weekend. We were overwhelmed by your support and it was fantastic to see so many people from all lots of different archaeological circles in attendance.

Discovery 2018! Conference at Queen's University Belfast

The second Discovery! conference was held in Queen’s on Saturday 3rd November, featuring 17 lectures from across the archaeological community in Ulster – with the commercial sector, museums, academics, societies and community groups all represented at the podium. Organised by the Ulster Archaeological Society and the Centre for Community Archaeology at QUB this was a hugely successful event, with nearly double the number of participants that attended the inaugural conference last year.

Many thanks to those who attended the conference at the weekend. We were overwhelmed by your support and it was fantastic to see so many people from all lots of different archaeological circles in attendance. Roll on Discover 2019!

Discovery 2017! Conference at Queen's University Belfast

The first Discovery Conference was held in 2017 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the first meeting of the Ulster Archaeological Society at Queen's University, Belfast and also launched the new Centre for Community Archaeology at Queen's University, Belfast. The conference organised by the Ulster Archaeological Society and Queen's University Belfast was the first Annual Review of Archaeological Discoveries in Ulster.  

The conference launch was held Friday 20th October with a full day of lectures on Saturday 21st October.
