The comprehensive journal - The Ulster Journal of Archaeology was originally founded in 1853. The current series (the third) was begun in 1938. It publishes information about Ulster's heritage, up-to-date reports of excavations, more general articles about Ireland and the Irish Sea Province which relate to Ulster as well as shorter notes and book reviews. The whole range of archaeological subjects is covered: Prehistoric rock art, Bronze Age burials, Celtic ritual sites, Medieval settlements etc - in short the wealth of Ulster's archaeological remains.
