Couch 2 5K arrives at Queens! Register NOW

Following the success of our previous Couch 2 5k programmes, we are running a further programme this spring. This is a running plan for beginners, so no matter what your fitness level, everyone is welcome to join.

The overall aim of the Couch 2 5K programme is to provide opportunities to get active on campus. The programme represents a structured pathway to make walking, jogging and running accessible and fun through progressive training sessions led by our team of coaches.

On completion of the programme, there will be a ‘graduation’ run at Queen’s Parkrun.


The 10 week programme starts on Wednesday 27 April 2016, the training sessions are on Wednesdays at 1.15pm. Participants should arrive 5 minutes early for pre-session briefing. Additional training can be provided for anyone who misses a training session due to planned holiday arrangements.


Participants should meet at the entrance to Queen’s Sport, PEC, each Wednesday. The training will take place in and around Queen’s Sport and Botanic Gardens and will last approximately 30-40 minutes. Showers and changing facilities are available for participants in Queen’s Sport.

How much does it cost and how do I register?

The fee is £10 per participant which should paid when you attend the first session at Queen’s Sport Reception.
