My programme starts in January 2021. Will I still receive my International Office Scholarship?
Any applicant enrolling on a programme that now has a January 2021 start date and has been awarded an International Office Postgraduate Taught Scholarship will still be eligible to receive that award.
All awards are made subject to our terms and conditions.
- My programme starts in January 2021. Can I still get the Early Bird Reward?
The Early Bird Reward payment deadline for programmes that now have a January 2021 start date is 30 November 2020.
- How much should I pay to get my Early Bird Reward?
When will I receive my Early Bird Reward?
Please pay 90% of your gross tuition fees. You should deduct any International Office Scholarship you have been awarded and any deposit you may have already paid.
If you are still unsure of the amount please contact internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk with your name and application reference and we'll be happy to provide the amount you should pay.
When you have paid contact internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk with your proof of payment and we will credit your discount to your tuition fee account. If you fail to notify internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk we cannot award your discount.
- My programme starts in January 2021. Can I apply for the Vice Chancellors International Attainment Scholarship?
The Vice Chancellors International Attainment Scholarship for 2020/21 enrolment closed earlier this year and the successful candidates selected.
The Vice Chancellors International Attainment Scholarship for 2021/22 enrolment is now open but is available only to new students joining the University. If your programme starts in January 2021 you are not eligible to apply.
- Can I defer my scholarship?
Any International Office Scholarship awarded is for entry to Queen’s University Belfast in the academic year 2020/21 and cannot be used for 2021/22 entry or any other year.
If you wish to defer your entry to the University your scholarship will not be transferred.
However you will be automatically assessed if you chose to defer your entry until 2021/22*.
*Awards offered in 2021/22 may differ from those on offer in 2020/21.

When will I receive my scholarship?
All International Office scholarships are awarded as a discount on tuition fees.
This will be credited to your tuition fee account following enrolment.
No cash alternative is available.
- Can I use my scholarship as a deposit for my course?
The scholarship cannot be used in lieu of any required deposit.
- How do I apply for an International Office Scholarship?
All new International students beginning their first year of full-time study on an eligible programme at Queen's University Belfast in 2020-21 and who meet the conditions of their academic offer will receive an International Office Scholarship.
No separate application for this scholarship is required.
If you are holding an offer for an eligible programme and meet the criteria as set out in the terms & conditions, you will receive notification of your award shortly after receiving your offer. The scholarship will be automatically awarded upon enrolment.
