Terms and Conditions Early Confirmation Award 2022/23  

1. The Early Confirmation Award discount is exclusively available to new international students beginning a full-time course in the academic year 2022/23. Exclusions apply – see point 10 below.
2. Students must hold an unconditional offer of a place on a full-time programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus starting in the academic year 2022/23 and pay their net tuition fees i.e. tuition fees in full less any International Office awards by the following deadlines:
   • Undergraduate unconditional offer holders 30 June 2022 or　within 5 days* of their offer becoming unconditional; and not later than 19 August 2022. *This is to prevent delays in CAS issuance during the peak period.
   • Postgraduate Taught unconditional offer holders 30 June 2022.
   • Postgraduate Research unconditional offer holders not later than 90 days before the start date given in their offer letter
3. Students wishing to avail of the Early Confirmation Award discount must email proof of transfer to internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk. Students who do not confirm their payment to internationalscholarships@qub.ac.uk may find their discount is not applied.
4. The discount is awarded for the first year only.
5. The Early Confirmation Award may be used in conjunction with other International Office scholarships and may also be used in conjunction with the Brickfield Exceptional Student Scholarship.
6. Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the full international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for the Early Confirmation Award discount.
7. Students must be self-funded.
8. Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students should contact International Scholarships　to confirm their eligibility.
9. If you are in receipt of funding (either tuition fees or tuition fees and living costs) from an external sponsorship body such as Government, a charity or a private organisation you will not be eligible for the Early Confirmation Award discount.
10. The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the Early Confirmation Award discount: 
    • Undergraduate: Medicine, Dentistry, Agricultural Technology, Theology.
    • ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes.
    • Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology, Master of Business Administration MBA
    • ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes.
    • External PhD programmes where students only undertake part of their research at Queen’s University.
    • Higher Doctorates - Doctor of Divinity (DD), Doctor of Laws (LLD), Doctor of Letters (DLitt), Doctor of Science (DSc), Doctor of Science (Economics) (DSc(Econ)), Doctor of Science, (Education) (DSc(Ed)) and Doctor of Social Science (DSSc)
    • PhD programmes by Published Works
11. A student may receive an Early Confirmation Award discount only once during their career at Queen’s University Belfast.
12. Students who have previously been awarded an Early Bird Reward or INTO Progression Scholarship are not eligible to receive the Early Confirmation Award.
13. Applicants may apply and/or be considered for more than one award administered by Queen’s University Belfast but if successful would receive only the highest value　 award with the lower value award cancelled or allocated to another applicant. With the exception of International Office scholarships listed under Point 5 above.
14. The Early Confirmation Award cannot be used in conjunction with any other University scholarships with the exception of those listed under Point 5 above. To confirm eligibility contact International Scholarships.
15. Students who are required to successfully complete a Pre Sessional English programme at QUB INTO in order to satisfy the English language condition of their offer, are NOT eligible for the Early Confirmation Award.
16. INTO students progressing to a full-time programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus starting in the academic year 2022/23 are not eligible for the Early Confirmation Award.
17. The University reserves the right to vary all or any scholarship awards, discounts and regulations at its sole discretion.
