This workshop will take participants through the basics of ideation and how it can extend to IP protection.

The session will cover:

• What is IP

• How to protect a new idea

• What types of IP protection exist

• Registered and Unregistered IP rights

• Why IP protection matters

Participants will be able to develop their knowledge and skills in identifying the various types of IP protection that is available to protect ideas and how you can go about in doing so.

Participants will also be given the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session that will take place at the end of the workshop.

This workshop is being delivered by Dermot Tierney, Intellectual Property and Licencing Manager at Queen’s University, Belfast.
