THE DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE OF INNOVATIVE TECHNICAL PRODUCTS
The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen's University Belfast offers an advanced degree in Product Design Engineering, as well as both Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. The main objective of our Product Design Engineering BEng / MEng degree is to produce graduates with a broad and balanced set of skills and attributes required for the design and manufacture of innovative technical products. It is a variant of the Mechanical Engineering degree, which after first year, focuses on:

BENG / MENG PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEERING
Both the BEng and MEng Product Design Engineering degrees are accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IME).
The majority of graduates are working in manufacturing companies or design consultancies in the UK or Ireland. Their broad skill set and experience has enabled them to fit in equally well in small and dynamic companies as within the multidisciplinary design departments of larger organisations.
TAILORED TEACHING FACILITIES
The School offers a range of state-of-the-art facilities to support student activity and project based learning.
Our students benefit from a dedicated computing suite, offering high-specification computers with the latest engineering software. Design prototyping is carried out with modern 3D printers and advanced laser cutting technology.
