The Essence of Project Management
An Insight into MSc (Masters) in Construction and Project Management
This short webinar took place on Thursday 9th March 2017 at 1030 GMT
With Ron Coates, Senior Teaching Fellow and CPM Programme Director
During this webinar - which lasted approximately 50 minutes - Ron Coates briefly outlined the MSc programmes within Construction Project Management, describing the varied educational and professional backgrounds of a typical student cohort in CPM; our students come from the UK, Ireland and across the world and from China and the Far East, from the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and EU countries.
Ron gave a short presentation, typical of normal lecture content, on the ‘Essence of Project Management’ – what sets Project Management apart from all other forms of management. Project Management is concerned with the management of change – however big, or small; Planning and Control sits at the heart of Project Management – without a plan how can you control anything?
The Webinar presentation then concluded with further details, briefly describing the various modules of study within CPM and BIM-PM and how these fit the structure of the programmes, together with an outline of the personal research module for the MSc Dissertation.
During the Webinar, attendees had the opportunity to submit written questions which were then answered in full before the session concluded.
