Useful Information

What is my next step?

If you are interested in applying for one of the listed studentships you can apply via the on-line portal

If you are a new user you will be required to set up a ‘user profile’ and you should check the email address that you submit for any further instructions. Please read the guidance notes before your application is finally submitted.

It is vital that you have all the necessary documentation available to support your application and to ensure a response from the University in a timely manner.

Please ensure you provide;-

  • Your Proposal
  • Degree Certificate
  • Degree Transcripts
  • English Language Certificate (if applicable)
  • Names of referees with an up-to-date email address (ensure that your referees are aware that the University will request references and will be sent an electronic form to be completed. Slow return of references will affect your application being processed without delay).
  • Any other documents requested as part of the application i.e. CVs, Questionnaires, Portfolios

What if I have my own proposal which is not linked to a funded studentship?

You should follow the same steps as above and create a user profile. Where it is requested for a proposal you should upload your proposal document or paragraph.

What if I have my own (external) funding?

Follow the same steps as above. Where the system asks for your funding option you should enter where the funding will be provided from.

What happens once I submit my application?

The University will process your application and forward it to the relevant school for consideration.

You may receive an initial conditional offer which will be based on you securing the studentship funding (or any other conditional requirement i.e. English Language qualification etc.).

For applications related to specific funded studentships, final decisions may be delayed as there may be additional criteria applied i.e. interviews.

The University will follow up your conditional offer to let you know if you have been successful.

I have received an offer and I would like to accept?

You will be required to accept your offer via the on-line portal. Once you have competed this you will be advised to register and provide your original documentation as part of the process when you arrive to commence your studies.

For International Students – acceptance of an offer will generate a CAS statement to allow you apply for your visa to study here at Queen’s
