Undergraduate Scholarships

International Office Undergraduate Scholarship

Open to all new international students enrolling onto a full-time undergraduate programme for a year one award of £2500 (fee rate 1) or £3000 (fee rate 2) (Including advanced entry into Year 2 or Year 3). No application necessary.

Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship

Two awards to two new international students enrolling on a full-time undergraduate programme. Full tuition fees paid for all years of programme, up to a maximum of four years. (Including advanced entry into Year 2 or Year 3). Application necessary.

Queen's Loyalty Scholarship

For Exchange and Study Abroad students returning to study on a full-time undergraduate programme at Queen's University Belfast. Exclusions apply. Awards a 20% tuition fee reduction on year 1. Application necessary. Apply here.

Queen's Family Scholarship

For children, sisters and brothers of Queen’s alumni and current students beginning a full duration course at Queen’s University Belfast. Exclusions apply. An award of 20% tuition fee reduction on year 1. Application necessary.

Early Bird Reward

For all new International Students enrolling onto a full-time undergraduate programme. Exclusions apply. Award of 10% discount on gross fees - may be used in conjunction with other scholarships. This award will be automatically awarded to those who meet the criteria.

Taught Masters Scholarships

International Office Postgraduate Taught Scholarships

Open to all new international students enrolling onto a full-time postgraduate taught programme. Exclusions apply. Recipients will receive a year one award of £2000 (fee rate 1) or £3000 (fee rate 2). No application necessary.

Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarship

Two awards to two new international students enrolling on a full-time postgraduate taught programme, one of which will exclusively be a Queen's Management School Programme. Exclusions apply. Award covers full tuition fees for all years of programme, up to a maximum of two years. Application necessary.

CQC Queen's Scholar Award

Four awards are available for current CQC students about to graduate with a BSc Pharmaceutical Sciences or BSc Pharmaceutical Biotechnology degree, who intend progressing to a full-time Postgraduate Research programme. £9,000 total award per student (£3,000 discount on tuition fees per year, up to a maximum of three years).


WORLDWIDE

Chevening Scholarships

Chevening is the UK Government’s international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders. Scholarships are for Postgraduate Masters programmes and cover tuition fees, living allowances, airfare and other expenditure. Applications for 2020/2021 Chevening Scholarships are closed and will reopen in August 2020 for 2021/2022 opportunities.

DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Commonwealth Scholarships

Commonwealth Scholarships are for candidates from low and middle income Commonwealth countries, for full-time study at a UK university. Visit the website for more details including application information.

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are for candidates from least developed and lower middle income Commonwealth countries, for part-time Master’s study by distance learning on selected courses including the MSc Global Food Security at Queen's.

OFID Scholarships

The OFID Scholarship Award supports outstanding young individuals from developing countries so that they are able to pursue graduate studies in a development-related field. The scholarship covers tuition fees, flights, living allowance and other expenses.

Wellcome - International Masters Fellowships

Wellcome support thousands of scientists and researchers in more than 70 countries. Various awards which can cover tuition fees, stipends and other costs. Visit the website for more details including application information.

AZERBAIJAN

Azerbaijan Ministry Scholarship

The Ministry of Azerbaijan offer full scholarships for PHD programmes to citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who wish to study in a top 500 prestigious universities, according to “Times Higher Education (THE) World Rankings” and “Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai)”. Government of Canada - Student Financial Assistance

The Government of Canada offer financial assistance in the forms of loans, grants and scholarships to Canadian nationals. Various loans, scholarships and grants are available - see website for more details.

COLUMBIA

Colfuturo Scholarships

Colfuturo provides financial support and increase the possibilities of Colombian citizens to access high-quality postgraduate study programs abroad. COLFUTURO offers each student up to US$25,000 per year for a maximum of two years. See website for more details

INDIA

Goa Education Trust Scholarship

The Goa Education Trust Scholarships are managed by the British Council India and aim to participate in the growth of the region. These scholarships provide partial or total fee payments for postgraduate studies in the UK. See website for more details

JN Tata Endowment for Higher Education of Indians

The JN Tata Endowment for the Higher Education of Indians has been helping Indian students since 1892 with loan scholarships for higher studies. Various scholarship awards are available. See website for more details

INDONESIA

LPDP

The LPDP Affirmation Scholarship offers graduate level funding to Indonesian nationals. The current LPDP eligible subjects and university list includes the areas of Pharmacy/Pharmacology and Nursing at Queen’s. See website for more details

Indonesian Lecturer Superior Scholarship

Indonesian Lecturer Superior Scholarships are available for Higher Education Lecturers under the guidance of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education to undertake Doctoral education. Various awards available - see website for details.

GREAT Scholarships 2019

We are offering one scholarship for an Indonesian student pursuing an undergraduate programme in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences*. The scholarship will cover tuition fees for the first year only of the undergraduate programme. (each scholarship is worth £20,000)


MEXICO

Conacyt

Conacyt scholarships are granted to Mexican nationals to carry out postgraduate studies at masters and doctoral level, in addition to supporting technical and academic specialties in an international institution.

FIDERH

The Fund for the Development of Human Resources (FIDERH) is a federal trust fund, administered by the Bank of Mexico, in order to finance postgraduate studies of Mexican students.

OMAN

Ministry of Higher Education

The Oman Government offer scholarships that enable students to pursue higher studies in certain specialisations, albeit at different degree levels, in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) within and outside Oman.

PAKISTAN

Islamic Bank Development Merit Scholarship

The Higher Education Comission provides scholarships to promising and outstanding scholars and researchers to undertake advanced studies and research in the fields of applied science and technology needed for the development of the member countries.

RUSSIA

Global Education Programme

"Global Education" is a state program for financing study abroad for Russian citizens enrolled in one of the leading foreign universities. The program covers tuition fees, travel expenses, accommodation and other expenses - see website for details.

SAUDI ARABIA

Saudi Arabia - Ministry of Education

Every year Saudi MOE offers full scholarships to Saudi national to pursue UG, PGT and PGR courses abroad. Scholarship is used to be known King Abdulazi Scholarship Program (KASP) until recently when it was renamed due to change in scheme.

For this scholarship a student needs to get university offer first and then apply for a scholarship. There are no specific number of scholarships allocated for each year and numbers depend from year to year - see website for more details.

TURKEY

Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme

The Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme supports academic studies at graduate or research level at a University or similar institution in one of the EU member countries. Scholarships are granted exclusively for academic studies directly related to Turkey’s EU harmonisation process and the EU acquis.

USA

George J. Mitchell Scholarships

The George J. Mitchell Scholarships allow Americans to pursue one year of post-graduate study at institutions of higher learning in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The Scholarships will be awarded to students who have shown both academic distinction and the potential for leadership.

Marshall Scholarships

Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at an UK institution in any field of study.

SallieMae Student Loans

Sallie Mae is a US student loan company with over 40 years of providing student loans for college, supporting graduate and undergraduate study, and more. Avilable to undergraduate or graduate students in any field of study.

US Federal Loans

Many US students who are unable to secure a scholarship opt to finance their studies at Queen's through US Federal Loans. Queen's is approved by the US Department of Education for participation in the William D Ford Federal Direct Loan Programme.

VIETNAM

Vietnam International Education Development (VIED)

Queen’s University Belfast has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Vietnam International Education Development (VIED) to offer scholarships to Vietnamese students wishing to undertake PhD study at the University. The scholarships will ensure that students’ tuition fees are met for a maximum of four years, along with other financial benefits.
