Spark researcher Hadil Sulieman was recently involved in an event to launch the newly established Jordanian Student Society, Izwitna at Queen’s University Belfast. The first Jordanian society in the UK to be recognised by the Jordanian Embassy, the society stands as an example of female empowerment as it was established by 3 female students; among them the spark researcher Hadil Suleiman, along with other Jordanian PhD students Ayah Zaidalkilani, Afra Daoud.
Izwitna QUB will welcome all international students, helping them to feel at home and meet in a warm and welcoming atmosphere and its aim will be to bring cultures closer to celebrate our similarities.The launch event which took place at The Graduate School at Queen’s University Belfast on the 16th July was a huge success with guest speakers Professor Margaret Topping and special guests (Prof Emma Flynn, His Excellency the ambassador of Jordan in the Uk, Mr Omar Al- Nahar, the Honorary consul of Jordan in Ireland Mr Joe Geoghegan, and a member of the Jordanian royal family Al shareefa Noor Bint Ali ) The event was attended by students and their families and included entertainment , food and lots of networking.
