Queen's offers lower tuition fees and living expenses than many other similarly well-regarded universities in the United Kingdom.
The fees you will pay will vary depending on the course you choose and the level of study. The following figures are for 2019/20 entry.

Postgraduate Taught Tuition
Standard Full-time fee: £5,900
The full-time standard postgraduate taught tuition fee, for a student commencing study in the academic year 2019/20 is £5,900 which relates to one year of study.
A student is classified as full-time if the total CATS points of the courses that he/she is studying are greater than 120 CATS points. CATS is an acronym for the Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme. This is a system which gives credit for each individual course unit that is completed successfully. There are a number of postgraduate taught courses which have non-standard fees.

Standard Part-Time
The part-time standard postgraduate taught tuition fee, for student commencing study in the acdemic year 2019/20, is £32.78 per CATS point. A student is classified as part-time if the total CATS points of the courses that he/she is studying are less than or equal to 120 CATS points.
Standard Dissertation
If the required dissertation is not submitted by 30 September of the academic year in which the student is enrolled, he/she will be required to pay the fee for a full dissertation module (60 CATS points) for the following year, at the prevailing rate.
Postgraduate Research Tuition Fees and Charges
Standard Full-time fee: £4,327
The full-time standard postgraduate research tuition fee, for a student commencing study in the academic year 2019/20 is £4,327 which relates to one year of study.
The fee will be calculated on a monthly basis, pro-rated for the academic year, based on the month a student commences study.
Part-time
Part-time research students are assessed, as such, on the basis that they are studying less than 21 hours per week, over a period of more than 18 weeks, on the course of study.
The tuition fee is calculated at 50% of the full-time tuition fee.
Thesis
A student who has completed research and is engaged in writing up a thesis will be charged a thesis only charge £305.
Tuition Fee Payment Options
The options for paying tuition fees and charges, for the academic year 2019/20, are summarised in the table below. Students must ensure they have made the necessary arrangements to pay their tuition fees and charges at enrolment and regsitration. The overarching principle, regarding the payment of tuition fees, and other associated charges, is that the student remains liable for the payment. If the student loan or sponsorship arrangements do not subsequently provide funding, the student will be required to pay all fees and charges personally.

Students from Northern Ireland and EU
From the academic year 2017/18, the Government will provide a tuition fee loan of up to £5,500 per student for postgraduate study. Eligibility criteria applies.
Please note that for courses completed over more than 1 year, you may not be able to draw down the maximum available loan. If your course fees are higher in any year than the amount of loan available, you will need to pay the difference to the university.

The course fee is £1,967. This is less than the maximum available loan of £2,750, however, the unused amount cannot be drawn down or carried forward to the following year. Year 2: Rachel is undertaking 120 CATs. The course fee is £3,933 but the maximum available loan is £2,750. Rachel will have to pay the remaining £1,183 to the university. |

UK Postgraduate Master's loans
You may be eligible for a loan of up to £10,280 to study a taught or research Masters in any subject.
• England introduced the UK's first Masters loans in 2016. The value of the loan is £10,280 for 2018/19.

Tuition Fee Liability for Postgraduate Taught Student Withdrawals
The date when a student withdraws will affect the level of tuition fees which may be refunded. Adjustments to tuition fees are calculated with reference to the date of a student's withdrawal from the University, not the last date of attendance. Tuition Fee Liability for Postgraduate Research Student Withdrawals
The tuition fee liability for a Postgraduate Research student withdrawal, or a temporary leave of absence, is based on the official date of withdrawal in the academic year, and a refund will be issued, if appropriate. The tuition fee is calculated for a month, if a student is deemed to be in attendance on, or after, the 5th of that month.
