REBOOT YOUR CAREER WITH A MASTER’S IN SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT.
Software development skills can set you apart in a global economy that is increasingly tech-driven
This intensive Master’s (MSc) in Software Development- specifically designed for graduates of non-computing disciplines - takes the skills you developed in your undergraduate degree and transforms them into the technical, analytical and professional abilities required to take on a range of roles within the ever-expanding IT industry.
Flexible Learning
Flexibility is key when it comes to this course. Choose to study full time, in one year, with a blend of on-campus study and online and interactive lectures. Or, opt to study the three-year, part-time, pathway which is delivered entirely online and in the evenings, with a mixture of lectures, interactive lab sessions and support. Part-time students can also choose to complete the course in two years by completing the dissertation in the third semester of year two.
A World-Class Programme
The course, run through the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Queen's University, Belfast, will provide a solid understanding of software engineering principles. You will learn how to design and create web applications, mobile apps and large data-driven computer systems. You’ll learn to analyse problems and design robust and elegant software systems to solve the problems.
This includes gaining skills in programming, web development, database design, and software testing. You will also learn how to work well as part of a development team using modern development techniques and tools.
Career Options
The tech-sector is booming and so are employment opportunities in software development. Additionally, given the diversity of careers available, the variety of skills gained from a non-IT primary degree are strongly valued by IT employers.
