The selection process for Nursing and Midwifery places in Northern Ireland will be different this year. Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University, two of the main providers of Nursing and Midwifery education in Northern Ireland, have worked in partnership to develop a new selection process for Nursing and Midwifery courses. We want to ensure that the health and social care system has the best future nurses and midwives possible, and we have changed the selection process to help us to better achieve this goal.
We are using an online interview platform, SONRU. SONRU is widely used by universities and corporations around the world for recruitment and selection. The interviews will focus on the values and attributes required to be a Nursing or Midwifery professional. All interviews will be assessed by members of university staff, members of the Nursing and Midwifery professions and members of the universities’ service users and carers groups.
As you will not be attending the School of Nursing and Midwifery for interview this year, below we have included videos containing information about the School and Queen’s University. We hope you and your family members will take the opportunity to look at what the University has to offer.
