Fall 2021 Entry
All George Washington University students are allocated to a room in BT1, our modern city centre accommodation. To secure your place in Queen's Accommodation you must make a separate application to your study application, which will be via our Accommodation Team. Study Abroad students can apply to Accommodation once you receive your Queen's student number, which is sent out by our Global Opportunities Admission Team You will usually receive this in mid-late June. Your room in BT1 is held for you, so there is nothing to worry about!Find out more about BT1
Once you receive your QUB student number from the Admissions Team you should apply to Accommodation as soon as possible. You should write BT1 as your preference. BT1 is our modern city centre site, where you will have an en suite bathroom, and shared living and kitchen facilities in a self-contained unit with up to six students. All QUB accommodation is self catering, which means you have facilities to cook your own meals, with a host of local supermarkets and stores nearby. Or if you prefer to eat out there are plentiful cafes and restaurants to explore!
All accommodation comes inclusive of utility bills, high speed internet and 24/7 on site safety team.
Please click 'read below' for important guidance on completing your accommodation application form.
There are a few additional things you should be aware of when completing your application for accommodation at Queen’s:
- You may be asked for up to three accommodation location preferences. Please ensure BT1 is your first choice. The system may require you to insert two other choices, so please just write two 'dummy' choices. You will be assigned to BT1 by the Accommodation Team.
- If you have any access needs or disabilities which may impact your accommodation needs then please ensure you disclose these when prompted on the application, as this is a separate application to your Queen's study application. If you have any particular access needs we recommend you contact firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible, prior to accommodation applications opening.
- You will be asked on your application if you require either a kitchen utensil pack or a bedding pack. This is a convenient option so you do not have to bring such items with you when packing. There is a cost for these items, but you can either pay on arrival at the Accommodation Reception or, if you don’t have payment methods available to you on arrival, it can be deducted from your deposit. The cobined kitchen and bedding pack is £60.00, or separately the bedding pack is £35.00 and the kitchen pack is £30.00.
What happens after I apply?
Shortly after you apply the Accommodation Team will send you an offer email which will ask you to accept the accommodation offer and read the accompanying terms and conditions. When you accept the offer it will be subject to you paying a £300.00 refundable deposit. You can pay this via credit or debit card. Please note the University is unable to accept American Express. If you have issues making your payment please contact the fees team E: email@example.com
Please be assured that with our accommodation guarantee, your deposit is fully refundable should you be unable to take up your place to commence study at Queen’s.
All Queen's accommodation is self catering.
You can prepare your own meals at your own convenience. As a city centre location the closest convenience store to BT1 is the Tesco Express on Great Victoria Street.
