Every year, the Postdoc Society from the MHLS Faculty organises a symposium to showcase the research carried out by postdocs in the Faculty. It is a great opportunity to learn about research at QUB and meet other postdocs in a friendly atmosphere!
The Symposium will include a wide range of presentations from Postdocs in our Faculty, with prizes being awarded for the best oral, poster and “flash” poster presentations. We have also invited Dr. Zoltan Fehervari, Senior Editor of Nature Immunology, to be our keynote speaker and to tell us about the intricacies of the publishing world, particularly in one of the most well-known journal groups in the world. Finally, Prof. Aaron Maule, the Dean of Research for our Faculty, will also be attending the Symposium and leading a Q&A session during which he will answer our questions about anything related with the postdoc environment at Queen’s. This programme would not be complete without several opportunities for networking over food and drinks and the chance to meet our sponsors and other fellow postdocs, final-year PhD students and PIs from all over the Faculty who will join us in that day!
The talks will be short and in layman's terms so that they are accessible to all postdocs, whatever the field of research.
Registration will open at 8:30 am and the post-symposium wine reception will start at 4:15 pm.
