Technician achieves Chartered Scientist Professional Registration
Congratulations to technician Kirsty McLaughlin on being awarded Chartered Scientist status

In April this year Kirsty McLaughlin, a Laboratory Manager in the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research (School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences Education) was awarded Chartered Scientist Professional Registration with the Institute of Science and Technology.
‘Queens technical staff have been encouraged to consider Professional Registration under the Technical Commitment as it provides Technical staff with recognition and reflection of their abilities, skills, experience and achievements in their career which are often lost sight of when completing day to day tasks. I slowly worked on my application on and off for a year, interacting with other technicians undergoing the professional registration process and making new friends along the way. I would encourage Technical staff to consider becoming Professionally Registered and their Line managers to support the process as it reiterates the quality of the work you do and standards in excellence that you maintain.'
