University Assessment Policy

The University’s Assessment Policy has ten principles, which establish a code of good practice for a range of assessment procedures for undergraduate and taught postgraduate degrees, including collaborative programmes and the taught components of professional doctorates.

The Policy contains guidelines as to how each of the ten principles can be implemented in full.

Guidance on Assessment and Feedback

The Assessment and Feedback pages of the Centre for Educational Development website identify best practice and are designed to assist staff in developing their assessment and feedback practices so that the student experience is enhanced.  There are suggestions of how to encourage students to engage with the feedback provided, self and peer assess, and how to provide feedback to large classes.  Where possible, examples of good practice from across the University are provided.
