The University’s Regulations concerning student illness, emergency and exceptional circumstances can be found in the Study Regulations for Undergraduate Programmes and the Study Regulations for Postgraduate Taught Programmes.

Guidelines for Schools on Exceptional Circumstances provides guidance for Schools on the implementation of the regulations on student exceptional circumstances, including a guide to normally acceptable exceptional circumstances.

Guidelines for Students on Exceptional Circumstances provides guidance for students on how to apply for exceptional circumstances should they encounter difficulties which may impact their academic performance.

In addition, the  allow eligible students to combine their sporting responsibilities with their academic requirements.

This Code of Practice applies to students on undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes, including the taught elements of professional doctorates. Information on the assessment and examination of students enrolled on postgraduate research degree programmes can be found in the Research Degree Programmes.
