Fees and Expenses

Claim forms for fees and expenses are available from the School Examinations Officer, or directly from the Examinations Office.

Completed expenses forms should be signed by the Head of School and forwarded directly to the Examinations Office, Student Guidance Centre, Queen’s University Belfast, Belfast BT7 1NN. Exceptions to this procedure are outlined below:

  1. Expenses forms relating to examining duties in St Mary’s University College should be returned to the Admissions and Examinations Office, St Mary’s University College, 191 Falls Road, Belfast BT12 6FE. These forms should not be returned to the Student Guidance Centre at Queen’s.

  2. Expenses forms relating to examining duties in Stranmillis University College should be returned to the Examinations Office, Stranmillis University College, Stranmillis Road, Belfast BT9 5DY. These forms should not be returned to the Student Guidance Centre at Queen’s.

  3. Expenses forms relating to examining duties in INTO Queen’s University Belfast should be returned to Academic Support, INTO Queen’s University Belfast, 2-8 Lennoxvale, Belfast BT8 5BY. These forms should not be returned to the Student Guidance Centre at Queen’s.

Payment of expenses will be authorised on receipt of a completed claim form accompanied to evidence of costs incurred.

In all cases, external examiners’ annual reports should be sent directly to externalexaminers@qub.ac.uk. Report forms may alternatively be returned by post to the Head of Academic Affairs, Level 6, Administration Building, Queen’s University Belfast, BT7 1NN. 

Payment of fees will not be authorised until the external examiner’s annual report has been received.

A scheme for the payment of external examiners is available from the Examinations Office.
