The Estates Directorate administers a budget for the supply and repair of furniture. As far as possible, the Directorate aims to recycle second-hand furniture throughout the University. If suitable furniture does not already exist within a School/Directorate/Unit, a new member of staff is entitled to have furniture supplied and what is supplied varies slightly depending on the category of staff e.g. a Professor would probably require more bookcases than a clerical member of staff.
