The University’s fleet consists of 30 vehicles, including cars, light commercial vans, horticultural vehicles and road-going and agricultural trailers.
The University is committed to the effective day-to-day management and minimising of fleet costs through value for money procurement and sound operational procedures.
Operational procedures are outlined in the Driver and Vehicle Handbook. The procedures are also applicable to hire vehicles and private vehicles used on University business.
All Schools and Directorates that operate University vehicles should ensure that a vehicle check is undertaken on a weekly basis. A sample vehicle checklist form may be viewed a downloaded here.The Handbook is part of the University’s Integrated Travel Plan, which aims to promote sustainable travel.
