Article 55 Review

Alongside monitoring, one of the key duties placed on employers under the Fair Employment legislation is the review of practices and procedures.

Under Article 55 of the Fair Employment and Treatment (NI) Order 1998 (previously known as Section 31 of the Fair Employment Act 1989), Queen's University, along must formally review its workforce composition and employment practices affecting recruitment, promotion and training by community background, at least once every three years.

The first Review was carried out in 1993. 

In the 2005 review the University also voluntarily reported on Disability, Ethnic Origin and carried out a more in depth analysis regarding Gender and in 2008 the review was expanded further to include an analysis of Age.
