Appraisal

Principles Underpinning the Appraisal Process

Appraisal provides an opportunity to review the performance and development needs of staff, both of which are integral to the appraisal process.

Appraisal involves the appraiser and the member of staff in reviewing the performance and planning the work and development needs of the member of staff within the overall context of the University strategy, Faculty/School/Directorate strategy.  It is an essential part of the University's commitment to developing its staff delivering high quality services and attaining the major goals set out in Vision 2020 and supporting documentation (ie: Corporate Plan/School Plans etc).  Appraisers can now register for skills training via iTrent at:  Trainining for Appraisers of Academic & Research Staff and Training for Appraisers of Staff Grades 3 - 10b
