Terms and Conditions


Annual Leave -Staff are entitled to 42 days annual leave per year.

Sickness Absence - The University has a generous sickness benefits scheme is in place which offers up to six months full pay and six months half pay.

Maternity Leave Pregnant staff are entitled to 52 weeks continuous maternity leave, 18 weeks at full pay, 21 weeks with statutory maternity pay and 13 weeks unpaid leave.

Paternity Leave - Paternity leave entitlement is fifteen days with the option to apply for up to 26 weeks additional statutory paternity leave.

Adoption Leave - A member of staff is entitled to take up to 52 weeks continuous adoption leave, 18 of these weeks are at full pay.

Trade Unions - The University recognises the University and College Union (UCU) for academic and related staff, Northern Ireland Public Service Alliance (NIPSA) for clerical staff and Unite the Union (Unite) for support staff.
