People and Culture Strategy
Our People and Culture Strategy, People First, has been designed in response to feedback from our Staff Survey and supports the delivery of the University's strategic priorities. There are three pillars to People First: Employee Experience, Culture and Talent, and we are already delivering against each of these pillars.
In April 2016, Queen’s University launched its first ever Staff Survey, an important step in our journey to become a true listening organisation. We asked you to provide your honest feedback about life as an employee at Queen’s, and with a high response rate of almost 70%, you let us know what you thought. We received a range of comments from across all areas of the University and related to every aspect of working life, reflecting the diverse employee experience at Queen’s.
One clear message emerging from the Survey was the need to recognise and value our people, putting them at the centre of everything we do. This led to a new People and Culture Strategy, People First, which was launched at an All Staff Event on 27 March 2018.
Since the Strategy launched, we’ve been working with our people to start making some real changes to how we do things at Queen’s. You can read more about the progress that's been made so far by clicking on each of the pillars below.
