Blood Cancer Awareness with Cancer Focus
Tuesday 14 September 2021, 1.00pm

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer Focus NI will provide an information session for staff.
During Blood Cancer Awareness month this session will raise awareness of blood cancers. These blood cancers affect the production and function of blood cells.
There are 3 main groups - leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. In the UK, every 20 minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer or disorder. And for most people a blood stem cell donation from a stranger with similar DNA is their best – or only – chance of survival.
This session will cover the main groups of blood cancers, the risk factors, what signs to look out for, the impact of treatment, and survival. The session will take place via Zoom and the link will be circulated on Tuesday 14 September 2021.
