We recognise that there may be questions or concerns that are specific to our international staff, and there are a number of specific initiatives in place at Queen’s to ensure they feel supported. We operate a ‘Buddy’ scheme to ensure all those arriving in Belfast to start their new job at Queen’s have a specific contact to answer any queries. We have also launched iRise, our BAME and International Staff Network. iRise provides a space for networking, peer support and provides a range of social activities both inside and outside of work.
There is a growing and vibrant staff team at Queen’s and international staff make a valuable contribution to this. We understand that the decision to move to Belfast is a significant step – both professionally and personally – and every effort is made to support those making that transition.
