Wifi Infrastructure Upgrade Project

The Wifi Infrastructure Upgrade Project (Phase 3), represents an investment by the university, to take its wifi network to the next level, with the provision of the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard across the campus.

Wi-Fi 6 will offer the following benefits to the students, staff and guests of the university:

  • Higher Data Rates
  • Increased capacity
  • Performance in environments with many connected devices
  • Improved power efficiency

The roll-out phase of the project is expected to commence in early 2020, which will see the deployment of the controllers in the first instance, with the first deployment of access points to follow soon after. Further announcements will be made in due course.
