Library Access

Queen's Library Services are now open

Students and staff of Queen's University Belfast are automatically members of the Library. Please bring your staff or student card with you if you wish to access any of the Queen's Library sites (McClay Library, Medical Library and Biomedical Library).

The McClay Library operates a controlled entry system. Members are required to use their Queen's staff, student or library card to obtain admission.

Please remember to bring your card when you visit the Library. If you have forgotten your card, access is also possible for Queen’s staff and students using the ‘Smart Card’ feature of the Queen’s University Belfast mobile app. You can download the Application for both Android and iOS devices. Log in to the app using your Queen's username and password.

Students and staff are also welcome to visit Special Collections in the McClay Library but please visit their webpages as it is now on an appointment only basis and material must be pre-ordered.

Due to reduced capacity to facilitate social distancing, we are not currently accepting applications for either Visitor, or Student Vacation.

Due to reduced capacity to facilitate social distancing the Associate Membership scheme is currently suspended.

Information about the scheme however is available through this link, as is information on membership for AFBI and HSC staff and the SCONUL Access scheme.
