The McClay Library, however, operates a controlled entry system. Members are required to use their Queen's staff, student or library card to obtain admission.

Important safety Information

Safety information is displayed throughout the Libraries and it is important that you familiarise yourself with this information on arrival. If you have any particular evacuation requirements then please inform a member of staff at the Reception Desk or Borrower Services desks who will be able to advise you accordingly.

In the McClay Library, data in the visitor registration system will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will be only used for the purpose of providing visitor access and reporting upon visitor numbers.

Parking

Since parking space within the University is very limited, the car parks are reserved for staff use only during normal working hours. The University is committed to supporting disabled students so the exception to this rule would be for those that hold a blue badge. The barriers at the top of Botanic Avenue, leading to the McClay Library car park are raised at approximately 4.30 p.m. every day and parking is freely available until the following morning at 8:00 a.m. There are no restrictions in place over the weekend period and parking is freely available.
