Access
Students and staff of Queen's University Belfast are automatically members of the Library. The McClay Library operates a controlled entry system so members are required to use their Queen's staff, student or library card to obtain admission. Alternatively they can use the ‘Smart Card’ feature of the Queen’s University Belfast mobile app.
Members of the public may join the University Library as an Associate Member. Please see Membership for further information.
Staff and Post-Graduate Research students from other universities that are part of the SCONUL reciprocal scheme are eligible for SCONUL Access Membership (Band A) See: SCONUL Access
Undergraduate and Post-Graduate students from other HE/FE institutions may apply for study access during the Christmas and Summer Vacations. To register see: Access for Staff and Students of Other Academic Institutions.
Visitors who wish to consult material held in the University Library but not readily available elsewhere may apply for admission. See Access for Members of the Public and Other Visitors.

Parking
The University’s car parks are reserved for staff use during office hours though exceptions are made for students with disability who hold a Blue Badge. However, there is usually unrestricted access to the car park beside the McClay Library between the hours of 16:30 and 08:00 and also at weekends.
Important Information
Safety information is displayed throughout the Libraries and it is important that you familiarise yourself with this information on arrival. If you have any particular evacuation requirements, then please inform a member of staff at the Reception Desk or Borrower Services desks who will be able to advise you accordingly.
In the McClay Libary, data in the visitor registration system will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will only be used for the purpose of providing visitor access and reporting upon visitor numbers.
