Current staff and students of Queen's University are automatically members of the Library. Please bring your staff or student card with you if you wish to access any of the Queen's Library sites.
The phased re-opening of the McClay Library commenced on 20th July 2020. In the first instance the Library is open to staff and students of the University only. As a result, the Associate Membership scheme remains suspended until further notice and we are not accepting applications at this time. Current Associate Members are advised that their membership renewal date will be extended accordingly in response to the suspension, ensuring you get a full 12 months membership.
We very much look forward to being able to welcome you back to the Library as soon as we are able to. Library Services are continuing to monitor the current situation as it evolves and we will be in touch as soon as possible with any further updates. The Associate Membership Team would like to thank you for your patience during this time. The Associate Membership Office will continue to operate remotely and will respond to any queries you may have via email. Should you have any questions regarding Associate Membership, please contact email@example.com
Membership of the Library is also possible under the following arrangements:
Honorary membership is available to members of QUB staff who are over 55 years of age and have retired from Queen's University Belfast after at least 10 years continuous service. Honorary membership must be applied for within 2 years of retirement and will be given for 5 years in the first instance. Application for renewal can be made at the end of that time. Honorary membership is also available to honorary graduates and current members of Senate. Please contact the Associate Membership Scheme Office - firstname.lastname@example.org for the relevant application form.
Recognised Teachers (recognised by the Collaborative Provision Group) and Honorary Titles or Visiting Research Titles (approved by the Honorary Titles Group) will be issued a card by Academic Affairs on appointment.
Teaching Assistants should contact their Faculty Administrator.
Please note that non-members need to apply in advance if they wish to use the McClay Library at Queen's. Further information can be found on the Admission to The McClay Library webpage.
