British and Irish Women’s Letters and Diaries (Second Edition)

British and Irish Women’s Letters and Diaries includes the immediate experiences of approximately 500 women, as revealed in over 100,000 pages of diaries and letters and includes primary materials spanning more than 300 years. The collection also includes biographies and an extensive annotated bibliography of the sources in the database.

Women’s Magazine Archive (Collection 2)

Women’s Magazine Archive Collection 2 is an archival research resource comprising the backfiles of leading women's interest consumer magazines. Issues are scanned in high-resolution colour and feature detailed article-level indexing. Coverage ranges from the late-19th century through to 2005 and these key primary sources permit the examination of the events, trends, and attitudes of this period. Among the research fields served by this material are gender studies, social history, economics/marketing, media, fashion, politics, and popular culture.

The full range of primary sources available via the Library platform is available on the Historical Primary Sources and Newspapers subject guides.
