Flying Solo in a Light Aircraft
Queen's Gliding Club offer students at QUB the opportunity to learn how to pilot a glider. Aviation sports are typically very expensive however steps have been made to reduce costs as much as possible.
Hire of the aircraft belonging to QUB is free and tuition is free. The only cost incurred is that to launch the aircraft.
Students will learn how to control the aircraft, make safety decisions and work under pressure. The outcome of the course is flying the glider solo when the instructor has deemed the student to be ready.
There are opportunities to progress further into instruction and competition flying on the completion of the course.
