Millennium Volunteers / Prestige Volunteers
Millennium Volunteers is a national programme that recognises the volunteering efforts of those aged 25 and under, through certificates backed by the Department of Education for 50, 100 and 200 hours of volunteering. Prestige Volunteers recognises volunteering efforts of those aged 26 and over, through certificates endorsed by Queen’s Students’ Union for 50, 100 and 200 hours of volunteering.
Students must contact firstname.lastname@example.org to register for the relevant award and will then be given access to a record book allowing them to record their volunteering hours.
In order to achieve DegreePlus Route A, students must complete 200 hours of Millennium Volunteers or Prestige Volunteers (these hours will be verified by a volunteering supervisor) over the course of their studies.
Upon successfully verified completion of 200 hours, students must submit a 500 word essay to email@example.com detailing how volunteering has impacted on their personal and professional development. Both the 200 hours and the essay elements must be completed by 31st March (summer graduation) or 1st October (winter graduation) on the year of the students’ year of graduation.
