Sporting Events and Projects
Queen's Sport delivers a wide range of sports projects and events throughout the year through three key strands:
Performance, community and recreation.
Each strand has specific objectives to allow students and the wider community to take part in sport.
Campus sport programme - Student sport executives:
Opportunity to plan, implement and evaluate student led recreational programme that include - taster days, campus cup tournaments and campus leagues
Large participation Events & Intervarsity Tournaments:
Queen's 5k race, Queen's Boat race, Intervarsity tournaments, annual blues awards night.
Community Outreach and Vacation Programmes targeting young people:
Queen's summer scheme, Queen's rowing camp (coaching or co-ordination)
Each project or event allows students to work as part of a team of sports development staff. Students are required to lead on project plans and implementation within a supervision and support structure that correlates to the PDP model of Reflect, Plan, Do and Review.
