Belfast Hills - Practical Environmental Conservation

Belfast Hills - Practical Environmental Conservation

We carry out ecological and conservation work in the Belfast Hills and surrounding areas.

Activities include tree and hedge planting, wildflower meadow creation, invasive species mapping/management and wildlife surveys.

Training is provided, so all abilities and backgrounds are welcome. Everyone who is capable of a little light work and enjoys spending time outside is welcome to join us.

There will also be opportunities to increase your skills in areas such as GPS surveying, GIS and species identification.

The role is flexible, so volunteers can decide how much or little time they commit. If you have more time available, we give students the chance to develop their own ideas into small scale environmental projects. Whether you’re a seasoned conservationist or a complete novice, don’t be shy, get involved!
