Santander Work Placement Scheme

Santander Work Placement Scheme

The work placement scheme within Santander is aimed at all students who either have an interest in banking or have a desire to develop their skills in preparation for employment once graduated.

The successful candidate(s) will be expected to work for 32 hours per week over a two week period.  A specific timetable is laid out for the placement. Activities will include Product Knowledge Learning, shadowing the Branch Manager on Risk and Control checks, reviewing people policies, observing customer interviews in branch and directly communicating with potential customers in the branch.

This placement is specifically designed for current students and is divided into two sections. During the first week, students will learn about the basic of everything we do in or outside the bank. In the second week, we'll give tasks/challenges for students to complete based on which field they are interested in or want to focus on.

Students will have the opportunity to experience how is it like working in a professional environment. Other benefits that a participant could get through this placement include understanding how a retail bank functions, risk controls, portfolio management, people management as well as the opportunity of shadowing personal bankers, relationship and Branch Manager.
