Tropical Medicine Workshops
The Tropical Medicine Conference takes the form of a series of workshops by clinicians, pathologists, microbiologists and guest speakers from "Medicine Sans Frontiere/Doctors without Borders" about the medical field work carried out in tropical areas of the world.
Students will be actively involved by having to apply what they have learnt by working through case scenarios, taking a history from a simulated patient or examining a mechanical patient mannequin.
The aim of the workshops is to give students a greater awareness of the work MSF does, and an appreciation of the daily challenges faced by doctors in the field.
Students will also be equipped with fundamental medical skills that will be useful in tropical medicine.
Students must attend at least 4 out of 8 workshops to be eligible for DegreePlus.
