Volunteering with the Northern Ireland Scout Council
The principal aim of the Scout Association is to support the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual development of young people to empower them to make a positive contribution to society, both locally in their own communities and internationally as global citizens. The Scout Association is very dependent on the assistance provided by a large number of volunteers, many of whom are young adults helping at local level while enrolled in full-time programs of study.
Some of our local QUB students may already have a longstanding commitment to volunteering with Scout Groups within their own communities and wish to have this service recognized through Degree Plus. Others, who may or may not have any previous experience of Scouting, might be interested in volunteering for the first time with a section of a scout group in the Greater Belfast area during term time.
