This session aims to provide students an insight into Chinese culture (geography, socio-political structure, educational, economic and technological development, etc.) in relation to/comparison with the UK, looking at the basic communication skills that one needs to get started, including but not limited to:
• meanings in numbers
• logic in expressing time and space
• basic social interactions
The session is open to all students and particularly suitable for those who are interested to develop basic language skills and cultural awareness for their work with local Chinese communities and those in preparation to study or work in China for a short period of time.
