QUB Engineering Society aim to provide students with the chance to become involved in something new and exciting that draws on their interests and knowledge to plan, prepare and get involved with rocket themed activities.
It draws together expertise from various engineering disciplines with the goal of delivering something truly ambitious. QUBES have established a committee and working groups to learn the skills necessary to develop and manufacture amateur rockets.
We hope to facilitate mini-projects including; launch of a weather balloon, prototype hybrid rocket, static engine tests, model rocket and design of control systems, turbofan and engine development.
This activity will take place between 14th May and 1st June. The range of dates is required to ensure suitable weather and wind conditions. SImiliarly, the balloon release will be from three potential sites: Kilbroney Park Rostrevor, Lurgan Park and Dungannon Park.
This event is happening more than once over Development Weeks at various locations. To keep up to date with 'Rocket Project' follow the booking link to join the Whatsapp group.
