The Edit - New Year, New You: How to Get Ahead with your Summer Placements and Progress you Career Plans This Semester (& Issue 11 Launch).
This Event will feature short talks from four editors on the editorial team of QUB Careers Magazine The Edit on how to add variety to your academic life this semester and look toward graduate employment options with tips on how to get in early with applications on summer placements and part-time jobs, invaluable experience for your end graduate job goal.
We will also be launching Issue 11 of The Edit, with a Q and A session at the end about the Queens Media Programme and how to become involved in next year's event. We're also inviting a top secret guest speaker to help you think about the graduate employability of AHSS students beyond teaching roles.
The Edit speakers will present quick individual talks on the career benefits of taking up a new language at the QUB Language Centre, ways to improve and vary your study regime with group study and utilising off campus study locations such as the Linen Hall Library, the MBC library and the SGC Hub, the art of aceing your CV layout and Assessment Centre performance before the interview process for summer internships even begins, and an overview of some of the current opportunities actually out there for AHSS students this semester.
